2004 Skywarn Training

A training session is being offered on Skywarn. Skywarn is a program offered through the National Weather Bureau to watch for funnel clouds and tornado conditions in the Huron County area. The training program for Skywarn will provide participants with detailed information on specific cloud formations that may lead to the formation of tornadoes, types of fronts that can lead to severe storms, and additional weather information.

The objective of this training is to provide residants with the information they need to detect a possible severe weather situation and to report it to the proper authorities. The knowledge gained from the Skywarn Training Program is training that may save the lives of family members and friends, as well as the many other Huron County citizens that may be impacted upon by severe storms or tornadoes.

The Skywarn Training Program is free of charge, does not require pre-registration, and is open to anyone interested in participating in the Skywarn Program for Huron County.
