Alpaca or Llama

2 ply sport weight yarn in skeins -$24.00 lb.

2 ply light weight yarn in skeins - $26.00 lb.

 Suri yarn add $1.00 lb.

Washing and Picking - $5.00 lb.

Washing, Picking and Carding into roving or batt- $14.00 lb.

2- lb minimum charge.( per run batch)

Finished product ( batt, roving or yarn) left unclaimed at our mill, 90 days after date of invoice, will become property of Alpacas of Brandy Creek Farm.

We will return fiber we feel is unsuitable for processing. (too short, too long, dirty, brittle, etc.) Fiber must be at least 3" but not more than 6 1/2" long. Short fiber may be blended with longer fiber with satisfactory results. But any fiber over 6 1/2'' will result in a fleece that cannot be spun on our spinner. Please remove hay, twigs, second cuts etc. before sending us your fiber. The picking process we do opens the fiber so it cards better. It does not clean the fiber. We do have a fiber tumbler which is very helpful removing VM and dirt. But the cleaner your fleece is the cleaner your yarn will be. When skirting your fleece pull it apart, this lets the dirt come out better. Skirting for processing is not the same as skirting a show fleece. All fiber must go through each step of processing, to the desired end product, here in our mill. This includes washing. We have developed a system that works well for us, to avoid problems throughout the process.
