DOB-DRIVERS
Tech2000Dob-Driver II Installation and Product Review by Bill Lennartz. Very thorough treatment by the (RAS) man who understands drives and their requirements.
Charlie Wicks' 20" f4.5 Dob with Tech2000 Dob-Driver II. RTMC 2001 Merit Award winner. A beautiful piece of work with super-quality machined details! This one is unique - a must-see.
Tom Orffs' Home Page Very nicely done site containing a wide variety of personal astro-images using Dob-Driver II as well as other varietal interests. Also a very nice fellow to be sure. Uses various ccd equipment very scientifically and properly... could be a good teacher (well - he is!).
Raynalds Large DobDriver Rim Drive installation.
Tech2000 Rim-Drive for azimuth in the Charlie Starks Method French site. Makes for high-accuracy goto with mechanical precision that better-matches the Tech2000 drive abilities. Good pics of rimdrive on altitude bearings.
Installation & Review of Dob-Driver & Roboscope by Oliver Ruau & Thierry Ruiz. Changed some kit components & bearings to get very high accuracy.
The 30" at Polaris Observatory Polaris Observatory Associations' computerized 30" Dobsonian.
Lunascan Project. Check out their 'Scope System Configuration' to see how they used the Dob-Driver II for precision lunar study at lo-cost.
NEW TELESCOPES FEATURING DOB-DRIVERS SPECIFICALLY
ASM Products Canada A competent competitor to the Carl Zambuto obession with optics. We wait for long periods but the reward is so far - outstanding! The ASM brand of course is exclusive to Tech2000 in USA sales.
BlackNightTelescopes Very Impressive work and fine finish.
MorningStar Telescopes - Exceptionally fine woodcraft - however he halted his telescope work and is now only accepting special requests due to recent moves.
YachtTronics/Steve Carr: Super-Deep carved Dob mounts with tubes fully-assembled for connoisseurs in the 'Yacht-Club'. Boat electronics also. Very very impressive scope productions in the smaller class at 10" or less. No net- phone 941-637-8711.
MasterPiece: The best-of-the-best when it comes to telescopes that could be considered more like a space probe or more artistic than they are scientific! Dave will, as a matter of course and via his fathers' long-reputation in "MasterOptician" training, enforce only the absolute highest requirements on any new instrument and any glass technology. This guy is technical and brutal on requirements. He says it's OK to say that because he's our boss at Tech2000! Takes about a year to produce a 'Masterpiece'. And the receiving person will always indeed be astonished! Not a cheap buy however.
GENERAL SCIENCE
Visual Elements Periodic Table General science interest. One of the top-100 pick by PC-Magazine for websites ignored or skipped. Very SUPER animations of the elements in the periodic table. A must-see in my book, but have a fast connection or much patience because the data is tremendous.
